I am a victim of a crime at fox run involving the two female principles, the school social worker and my 2nd grader s first and second grade teachers. I was told by police at morning drop-off that I was no longer allowed to attend norwalk public schools. The conflict started when I questioned his first grade report card in June and wrote a bunch of letters to the principals and his special Ed team. I was told child only made progress especially when his teacher came back from maternity leave but she downgraded all his grades from middle semester, their were 2 teachers present and I thought they were accurate. One principal asked me to leave because I would see first grade teacher and she wrote in email that I was unjustified even though teacher had an issue with me and she spread gossip on me and I was experiencing hostility from teachers who didn't know me because it's obvious to most I am a rational person, good parent, I don't stir up trouble and I have the nicest most delightful boy. I chose to return to 2nd grade and problems started in the Oct meeting when his new teacher looked shady like she was going to act on the smear campaign and the first thing she said at special Ed meeting was unfortunately I have to work with her and I was confused by that statement but fast forward my first conference with her she did a duplicate copy of the first grade report card and she told me his report card grades would not improve going forward. 2 weeks before getting kicked out of school I had pleasant reasonable phone meeting with his new special Ed teacher and she assured me child is overall doing very well, he works hard I don't need to worry and he's making progress and he doesn't need a tutor that I considered getting. Fast forward to his conference this March his teacher shut the door and immediately got hostile, was scraping to contradict everything I said, I was undermined. Prior I had couple of meeting with the principal and social worker and they said appalling things. She said same words I said to principle and principle said to me. They both undermined me. First thing teacher said was I heard your not happy we ll see how happy you are at new place. Teacher did another duplicate copy of first report card and lowballed other areas of confidence other teachers said he had and i agreed. This teacher and principal both insisted repeatedly that report card does not reflect progress because the standards get harder but child can maintain standard.

We are so happy with the experience both of our sons have had at Gaskill. Their teachers have made learning engaging and go the extra mile to get our kids what they need. The other staff and specialists at school take proactive steps to know students, understand their needs and use effective interventions. It’s a wonderful place to be.

I have to share my experience because I took my children out of STS due to the previous principal. We tried public school, it was terrible. We are now back with the new principal, and it is SOOO much better! The education even when you don't have an experienced teacher is still better than what is being taught in public schools. My specific experience was with Mechanicsburg Area School District. The curriculum at STS is rigorous and demanding of the kids. It teaches them hard work, time management, and discipline. The community at the school is also amazing. Being able to connect with other families and having that relationship year after year really builds a comfort of knowing your kids are in a great place. The administration right now is also doing a great job. It is sad that one bad principal ruined things and a lot of good teachers and students left the community, but it has turned a corner for the good and I hope it keeps going!!! One thing to note, unfortunately they are not a great place for kids with special needs or learning disabilities. They are better served through CAIU, which only visits the school once a week or so.

It's good to be part of the MCCS family. A very safe and secured environment, very inclusive home for education, where kids receive a strong academic foundation.

I am a parent of two children who attend Thomas Mifflin School and I am very satisfied with our neighborhood school. The principle is accessible, the teachers are caring and skilled at their jobs. My children are learning at the levels that they need to be at and smile when they go to school. The school has a very active Friends group that supports the school and students by putting on social functions, fundraisers and supports the needs of the staff and teachers.

Teacher pushs adhd to get the parents to start evaluations and medications the principle and behavioral health teacher are amazing and open to discussions but 3rd grade is the worst. teacher argues for adhd when given fake examples of things I've tried to do to help my kid and his response based off of normal responses of children without adhd the teacher nodded her head repeadedly and said yep sign of adhd. The teacher punishes disabilities and even lied about my kid to save herself from looking bad. The teacher has pushed adhd in so many ways she has well over stepped her legal bounds. If I didn't have shared custody of my kid I'd have pulled my kid from her class after the first parent teacher conference be cautious sending ur kid here dont just accept what the teacher says really evaluate it based off of what u know of your kids I ended up paying for a private 1500 dollar evaluation with eeg to find out everything I said was correct and the teacher was wrong. She's going to hurt children rather than help them if she doesn't stop the school is recouped and recruiting based off test scores and to do that hyper focused medicated kids get the job done

As a mid-year transfer, we felt that this school is very “small town” and cliquey. I am not sure if they don’t receive a lot of transfers, or just aren’t welcoming, but we weren’t received warmly. The front desk employee has been short and rude with me, my husband, and my mother during every interaction, including my daughter’s first day. When we would ask questions, we were talked down to with responses such as “you should read the handbook in your free time” and “why would you park on that side of the building? That doesn’t even make sense”. There wasn’t any assistance for getting to know their online platform (some school districts keep PDFs or handouts of basic instructions), and I don’t think they realize that their technology/policies aren’t the same that are used in every district. Overall very much not friendly to outsiders, but a good school nonetheless. I felt that adequate attention was given to my daughter’s 504 and the teaching staff were more professional than prior districts. We didn’t experience or witness unchecked bullying or anything outside of typical middle school behavior. The teaching staff intervened when appropriate and used appropriate measures with the students. I was able to easily connect with teachers to share concerns and updates. The community and school take pride in their extracurriculars. High ability courses are offered. The school is very nice on the inside as well and well-maintained. I liked that the majority of students have involved parents and feel tied to their community/peers. They seem to have strong values and good behavior for their age. Counselors are involved and caring as well. If you can get past the rough transition period, I think you’ll have a great experience.

Both of my children attend this school and they are thriving. Thier teachers have all been experienced and loving teachers. The school has a great program for students with multiple disabilities where they give the students the special attention they need while including them in with the general student body as much as possible. There is also a Friends of Mifflin group for parents to get involved.

I attended this school last year and the year before worst experience of my life there are a bunch of bullying, a bunch of fake rumors a bunch of used condoms and the fights are the worst of all they’re so much violent there for absolutely no reason it was so bad that I had to change districts I got bullied and when I defended myself because a bunch of girls tried to jump me I got suspended. I didn’t fight back. I just kept pushing them. And I guess they got mad at me for pushing them, but the girls got suspended for lower time than me because they’re friends with the staff and the principal it’s like if you be a bad kid there they’re gonna love you but if you be a good genuine kid, they’re gonna hate you. It’s so weird if you take your daughter or your son be prepared for them to come home crying every day or get into many fights or get into vaping and smoking and drugs.

I cannot say enough great things about Benchmark School—it has truly been an incredible experience for our family. What sets this school apart is its holistic approach to education, focusing not just on academics but also on social and emotional development. The teachers and staff genuinely understand each child as an individual, offering personalized support that helps them thrive. One of the biggest benefits for my child has been the development of executive functioning skills. Benchmark has taught my child how to learn, which is an invaluable skill that will carry them throughout their education and into their future career. The school places a strong emphasis on helping students take ownership of their educational and personal growth. By learning to understand their own learning styles and recognizing their strengths, students develop strategies that work best for them. This level of self-awareness fosters confidence and independence, which is key for long-term success. I’ve also heard from other schools in the area that Benchmark graduates are more prepared for high school than students from any other school nearby. If you’re looking for a school that prioritizes both education and personal development, Benchmark is an exceptional choice.

Best School in Chester County from our view. Coming from Downingtown it’s assumed the schools are better but this school is top tier. The bus situation is amazing. The playground is amazing and the education is outstanding. The teachers and staff keep us informed and care deeply about all students. Glad to be zoned in 19320 for this school!

My youngest started kindergarten This year and it was very hard on her. Since birth she’s only spent a very small amount of time away from me. Mrs. Kristen and Mrs. Theresa made this year so much better for us.

As an educator and parent, I value schools that prioritize both academic excellence and student well-being. Unfortunately, our experience at this high school did not align with those expectations. If you're transitioning from a traditional high school expecting a supportive environment, I strongly encourage you to reconsider. While the classical curriculum provides a structured approach to learning, its execution was inconsistent. Rules were not applied uniformly, creating an unpredictable atmosphere. More concerningly, student support—particularly for those with IEPs or individual needs—was severely lacking. For months, my daughter’s IEP was disregarded. I had to involve advocates and an attorney just to ensure her legally mandated accommodations were followed. To make matters worse, the school held an IEP meeting without me! A violation that should never happen. The staff was not only dismissive but also extremely rude, making an already difficult process even more frustrating. I have never been treated so unprofessionally in my life. No parent should have to fight this hard to secure the basic support their child is entitled to, and no student should feel unheard or unwelcome when seeking help. Beyond academics, a school should foster kindness, inclusivity, and accountability. Unfortunately, I did not see enough effort to create a truly supportive environment. While this school may work for some, I strongly urge families to do thorough research, be prepared to advocate aggressively, and communicate proactively with administration to ensure their child’s needs are met.
